The elder brother of the missing NSCDC Commander, Terkula Gaadi told The Nation in Makurdi, his brother was transferred from Enugu Command of the NSCDC to Yenogoa, Bayelsa state.

He further stated that while he arrived Bayelsa State, he called him and other family members and informed them that ” The Deputy Commandant has refused to hand over to him and he was yet to take over.

” Few days after the call, that’s towards the end of the month of October, he was nowhere to be seen in Yenogoa and all his lines are switched off permanently ”

“One day someone called to inform the family the missing Commander said he was going to Enugu to pack his property and bring them to Yenogoa, and he cut the line.

” We became more suspicious as days passed without getting in contact with our brother. So we called the number that told us he went to Enugu to pack his property.

“The person answered and said our family members are talking to officials of NSCDC High Command in Yenogoa so he will not comment further and hurriedly cut the conversation “.

The pained elder brother said he called the number and asked to speak with the Commandant of NSCDC in Bayelsa but the phone was handed to another man who said he was not the Commandant.

At another call, he said a female voice who claimed to be the Commander answered.

“When we ask questions, the woman will delay the answers in a way that she was taking instructions from another person before she answered and the line was switched off permanently,’ he added.

He claimed the worried family contacted a policeman who tracked the number of the Deputy Commander and reported he was last seen in Tombia junction behind a market and never went outside Yenogoa.

“On the family’s WhatsApp group, there was an indication that he was on it on 30th, October by 9am.

” We are worried that it’s taking security agencies more than 14 days to find out what happened to our brother and tell us. The tension is becoming unbearable,” Terkura said. (The Nation: Text, Excluding Headline)
