MR. THANKGOD’S JOURNEY TO FREEDOM (PART 1). Mr. ThankGod is the first inmate we’re representing in our organization. He has been awaiting trial in prison custody since the 5th day of April, 2017. He hasn’t appeared in court since the day he was arraigned on the 5th day of April, 2017. We met Mr. ThankGod earlier this year when our Team visited the Correctional Facility in Port Harcourt and we decided to take up his case after hearing his story especially how his family couldn’t afford a lawyer and as a result he’s been in custody since this day. Today, the matter was mentioned in court for the first time since the 5th of April, 2017 with our Team representing him in Court. It was further adjourned to next month.
·As an organization, we’re raising an awareness alongside combating the silent pain/issue of “Awaiting Trial” in the Nigerian Judicial System, the best way we can. Turn on your post notifications to keep up with Mr. ThankGod’s journey to freedom. #mercyprojectng #awaitingtrial
