Sudan Conflict
Sudanese armed forces lead by General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan is funded by China, Russia, Vietnam, India, Iran, Venezuela, Belarus, Czech Republic.
Rapid Support forces paramilitary group led by General Mohamed Hamdan is funded by US, UK, France, German, Australia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Saudi and UAE.
Sudan just did a deal with Russia that allows Russia to have a naval base at Port Sudan (in Sudan’s Red Sea Coast) that allows them access to the Red Sea which the western countries are not happy about. Also, all Sudan’s oil exports go through Port Sudan. America’s ambassador to Sudan (John Godfrey) expressly warned against the deal but Sudan is going ahead with it.
Sudan’s major exports are Gold ($2.9b), Groundnut ($488m), Petrol ($400m), Sheep and Goats ($239m) and other oily seeds ($416m) exporting mainly to UAE ($2.9b), China ($780m) Saudi ($341m), India ($259) and Italy ($202m)
Sudan’s major imports are Raw Sugar ($859m), Refined Petroleum ($580m), Wheat ($508m), Packaged Medicaments ($238m) and cars ($204m) imported mainly from China ($1.82b), UAE ($1.37b), Saudi ($1.17b), India ($1.01b) and Egypt ($708m)
Sudan just submitted an official application to join BRICS which the Western countries are not happy about it.
The number of proxy wars in Africa is on the increase in line with tension between China and US.
