“Bhagwan Shiva murti desecrated inside renowned Hindu ashram in Bangladesh,” by Ratri Bose, Hindu Post, May 3, 2023:
A murti of Bhagwan Shiva was desecrated inside the famous ashram of Baba Lokenath Brahmachari in Baradi area of Sonargaon sub-district, Narayanganj district in central Bangladesh.
According to a report in Bengali-language daily newspaper from Ei Samay Sangbadpatra, the religious zealot attacked the ashram/monastery on Monday & tried to break the murti.
“According to tradition, Mahadev’s murti was being taken for a bath. At that time, the young man suddenly tried to break the murti with his hands. At first ascetics were startled by the suddenness of the incident, but the youth was quickly subdued by the ascetics. Later he was handed over to the local police. The accused has been arrested,” an administrator of the monastery told Ei Samay Sangbadpatra.
It should be noted that Narayanganj district of Bangladesh has repeatedly been in the headlines due to vandalism of Hindu murtis or attacks on Hindu temples & Hindus….
