POLICE PARADE BANDITS OVER STONING TWO OFFICERS TO DEATH IN KWARA STATE

The operatives of Kwara State Police Command paraded suspected 37 bandits including 5 minors over the alleged stoning of the two officers of Old Oyo National Park to death at Abaata Abu, Kiaima LGA, Kwara State.

The information available indicates that the two officers identified as Park Peter Ayehmoba, the Deputy Conservator of the park and Julius Adeola, Chief Park Inspector were said to have been on a morning patrol before the bandits in their number overwhelmed and stoned them to death.

The Corpse of the officers was recovered by the operatives of Amotekun corps on the afternoon of 25th July 2023 after the Ill-fated incident.

Following the incident, officers and men of the park went all out to track down the bandits which resulted in apprehending 37 suspects inclusive of 5 minors.

The bandits were employed from Zamfara and Sokoto State to serve as security for Illegal Miners in Abaata Abu, Boni town Kiaima LGA, in Kwara State a town which shares a border with Oyo State.

It was indicated that Chinese and other Nationals visit the community to buy extracted minerals which are known as Kunzite stone ( A gemstone used as an accessory for beauty). Meanwhile, not less than 50 – 65% of people living in Boni Community are illegal miners who are well protected by Bandits.
