Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has instituted a 24-hour curfew in the state following the destructive activities of hoodlums. The governor made the announcement on Sunday afternoon after the hoodlums invaded two warehouses and looted items. Reports indicate that some of the hoodlums also targeted private shops and attacked people until security operatives intervened.
The decision to impose the curfew comes in response to the dangerous escalation of the hoodlums’ activities in the state capital, involving violence and theft from businesses and individuals. As a result, there will be a complete restriction of movement throughout the state during the curfew.
The government clarified that only individuals on essential duties, with valid identification, will be allowed to move around during this period. Governor Fintiri urged everyone to comply with the directive, emphasizing that any person found violating the order will face arrest and prosecution. The curfew aims to restore order and protect the safety and security of the citizens in Adamawa State.
