ECOWAS delegation arrived in Niger for talks A delegation from the ECOWAS arrived in Niger on Saturday in an effort to seek peace over a military intervention in Niger.

The delegation arrived in the capital in the early afternoon and is being led by former Nigerian President Abdulsalami Abubakar.

Among the delegates is the bloc’s president of commission Omar Touray, who was met at Niamey airport by the junta-appointed prime minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine and was due to hold talks. Zeine have already told that the toppled president Bazoum would not come to harm.

News are coming that Junta even let Bazoum participate in talks with ECOWAS. Delegation also met with the new leader of Niger Abdourahamane Tchiani.
