West African expats from Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana and elsewhere rallied in the Nigerien capital Niamey on Saturday to make their voices heard. The want their governments to reconsider joining any military adventure in Niger and remember that the lives of their own nationals are at stake too.
Beninese in the crowd were especially angry at their president’s open backing of the ECOWAS position and acting as the bloc’s mediator with the coup-powers in Niamey.
