π§ππ‘π¨ππ¨: π ππ¦π§ππ₯ π’π ππ’π¨ππππ¦π£πππ Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s two-faced approach to the crisis in Niger was on full display at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, September 19, when he gave a speech laced with contradictions. In the same breath, he mentioned Africa’s determination to be rid of shackles (read: neocolonialism) and then reiterated his goal of intervening in Niger with the help of neocolonialists. Tinubu gives the impression that he is in sync with the momentous changes sweeping across FranΓ§afrique, but he is careful not to upset the status quo, from which he benefits. Regional African body ECOWAS, whose current chairman is Tinubu, has threatened military intervention in Niger with promises of support from France.
