Here is one the founding fathers of ECOWAS who came into power in Nigeria through a military coup d’état, and yet he was part of those who created ECOWAS in 1975. What do you have to say about that? I’m sure General Gowon is grieved of what has become of the organization that he and his colleagues have created. He has shunned ECOWAS since the beginning of the Niger crisis, because no matter how hard ECOWAS tried to justify their sanctions, they are illegal and wrong.
