The annual Igbo Easter Retreat being organized by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide and scheduled to hold in Asaba in Delta State has been shifted to 25th March 2024. The Chairman of the 2024 Igbo Easter Retreat National Planning Committee, Dr Saint Chukwuola Dike announced this in a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday.He explained that the rescheduled retreat will a momentous occasion marked by series of enlightening lectures, and conferment of igbo’s highest honor upon Tinubu, and the unveiling of a revolutionary blueprint for Igbo economic empowerment.
“Our vision is clear: to drive industrialization, foster foreign investment initiatives, champion the “Think Home” philosophy, and elevate the promotion of Igbo language and culture to new heights,”the chairman pointed. Parts of the statement read:
“In a moment of profound reflection and thoughtful consideration, Ohanaeze Ndigbo embarks on a journey of renewal and transformation.
The eminent decision to shift the date of the 2024 Igbo Asaba Retreat to 25th March is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and unity across borders and boundaries. “Through the passionate appeals of distinguished Igbos both at home and in the diaspora – from Brazil to Spain, Uganda to South Africa, the United Kingdom to Saudi Arabia – our collective voices resonate in harmony. The convergence of Igbo delegations worldwide, alongside government officials, affiliate groups, and the esteemed Ime-obi Ohanaeze Ndigbo under Prince Richard Ozobu’s leadership, heralds a new chapter in our history. “Furthermore, the adoption of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo constitution, the preemptive zoning of the next election of the President General to Rivers State, and the presentation of recommendations for the creation of a new state echo our unwavering commitment to progress and development.
