The Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, has once again made headlines with his recent bold promise during an engagement in the ancient city of Benin.

On Friday, Akpata and his seasoned team continued their issue-based campaign, touring various areas of Benin City, the capital of Edo State. The former NBA President used this opportunity to communicate extensively with members of the New Benin Market Electronic Sellers Association and the Spare Parts Dealers in Uwelu Market, many of whom hail from the eastern part of the country.
During the engagement, Akpata listened attentively to the issues the sellers are facing and allowed members to suggest solutions to these pressing problems. He further assured them that they would grow and progress under his incoming administration.
One of the moments that captivated netizens was when Akpata boldly declared, “I know that this great association’s majority of members are from the East. Let me assure you, as Governor of Edo State, Edo will be okay for Ndigbo.”
He also boasted about his tenure as President of the National Bar Association, saying, “I do my work as president finish, I leave 1.5 billion for the account for the association. Some state governors nor dey leave 1.5 billion.”
The leadership of the association expressed their support, telling Akpata to rest assured as they had unanimously decided to back his gubernatorial ambition.
Notably, Akpata has toured every part of the state in recent weeks, engaging extensively with traders from various fields, demonstrating his commitment to addressing their concerns and fostering inclusive growth in Edo State.
