The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) says the two combat vehicles known as Mine Resistance Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles, which were destroyed by terrorists in a viral video were immobilised by troops after they were stuck in Zamfara forest.
This is contained in a statement by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, on Monday in Abuja.Buba said that the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji had on Aug, 29, embarked on a fighting patrol to dislodge terror gathering at Kwashabawa Village in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara and engaged the terrorists en route to the location.

What I saw in that video is make believe. The incident is well orchestrated. I saw the tyres one side deep inside the earth come on and this happened during exchange of fire and not ambush and the only option left for Nigerian is to abandon the Armoured vehicle flee for their lives but the terrorists could get off the mud and use it to execute their acts of terrorism. The vehicles are newly acquired and I do believe all the support system are still functional to get it out assuming it got stuck. Were the Army not supposed to put up a fierce resistant? Don’t they know the consequences of losing the vehicle to the terrorists? Shouldn’t there be a strategy that vehicle should be blown up instead of abandoning it to the terrorists to the detriment of the Nigerian state? How do you expect the community dwellers to have confidence in the Nigerian military when the terrorists flaunt before them Armoured vehicles captured from the troops that would have come to their rescue? It is high time we look beyond the flimsy rhetorics and ask critical questions.
Does that Mrap looked like a vehicle that got sunk? They should investigate the commander and all his troops. The Nigerian army keeps gifting the terrorists with our military hardwares that were bought with Tax payers money. The first Armoured Tank that the BH lay their hands was gifted to them by MNJTF led by a former Chief of Army Staff. We have been losing too many military hardware to terrorists as if the military are Boy Scouts. We didn’t lose them Liberia, Sierra Leone and other nations but here the Nigerian Army is doing bazaar at every given time and the local community dwellers have seen them less than the terrorist
