World Press Conference – *9th October,2024* . This will be held simultaneously at the five State capitals of the SouthEast.

*Issues at Stake*

1. Federal Government to request that National Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC to compel EEDC to immediately with three weeks to refund N11.86billion overbilling on SouthEast Estimated electricity consumers from January to September, 2023 as ordered by NERC and accepted by EEDC.

2. Federal Government to compel NERC her Agency, to abide by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on non discriminatory as regards their Band ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ and ‘E’on electricity tarriff.

3. NERC to supervise and ensure that EEDC and Aba Power Ltd, Geometric, abides by their agreed CAP methodology on estimated consumers, and stop the continued overbilling and reckless disconnection of consumers supply, particularly those they are still owing the refund as ordered by NERC.

4. Prepaid meter every consumer in the SouthEast immediately and at no costs. Meters are the equipment of EEDC and Aba Power Ltd, Geometric and they are in business.

5. NERC to enforce their order on, No prepaid meters to MD consumers, no payment on bills.

6. NERC to sanction EEDC and Aba Power Ltd, Geometric, for demanding the payment of poles, wires and cables, repair and purchase of transformers for consumers of electricity in the SouthEast.

7. The five state Governors of the SouthEast to cause or compel EEDC and Aba Power Ltd, Geometric to work on their infrastructures in the chain of distribution of electricity, expand their networks which PHCN handed over to them and buy more energy from TCN to service the people of the SouthEast adequately.

*Impending Strike*

1st November, 2024{indefinite).

All Electricity Consumers, particularly SEECA members will cease from paying electricity bills from the 1st November, 2024, if the above demands are not addressed.

We advise electricity consumers in the SouthEast to get ready and call the bluff of EEDC and Aba Power Ltd, Geometric and the supply.

Yes they may come to disconnect your light unlawfully which has been their stock in trade. Do not confront them.

Let’s stay in darkness and allow them hold their supply.
