The Igbo Think-Home Investment and Development LTD, called “Think-Home Policy Initiative” a renewed investment delivery policy with a strategy for promoting quality developmental projects in Igbo-land in response to making investments competitive and attractive. It is a developmental strategy in Igbo land without border to states, religious or partisan political affiliation. It is also a commitment to transforming Igbo land into a Tourism Nation, African – Dubai-Taiwan and the Global Investment Hub.

Think-Home Policy Initiative is one of the programs agenda for the actualization of Igbo mandate initiated by the United Igbo Elder Council to develop Igbo land beyond post-industrial and post-tertiary levels, with a great potential to create wealth and creating jobs in Igbo land. It is yet on the outcome of the advice preached and handed down to the Igbo people in Lagos by the late, Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Gburugburu Ndigbo, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu not long after his return to Nigeria from exile.

Think Home Policy initiative is recognized by the Federal Government of Nigeria for attracting investors from all races and ethnics groups, but particularly from Igbo land, and promotion of good societal values and right ideals in Igbo land. It is still part of heeding to and imbibing of the advice implicit in the first University in Eastern Nigeria, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka as established in (1960) by the legendary Zik of Africa, Owelle of Onitsha and the first President of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In 1991, the late, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike Ndigno), captioned his inaugural speech as the former Executive Governor of Anambra State, as THINK HOME. Later, public commentators added the word, ‘Philosophy’ to the phrase and it became popularized as “Think Home Philosophy”.

Potentials For Genuine Investors In Igbo Land:

As the name implies, “Think Home Policy Initiative” is a strategy action, the ideas, the philosophies and advice handed down to the Igbo people by the United Igbo Elders Council-Zik, Ojukwu and the motivator and Think Home Philosopher, Late Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike Ndi Igbo), among others. It is part and parcel of walking-the-talk.

For all lovers of development of Igbo land, plots of land are available on customary grant, token or law at highly subsidized rates for interested investors and core developers, cooperate organizations, institutions are invited and warmly welcome into the positive economic outlook of the Igbo speaking states of Nigeria. This gem of investors(local and foreign direct investment) would yield bountiful harvests and returns –on investment (ROI) in both short medium and the long terms. We are calling on serious and genuine investor, developers and chief promoters/ critical thinkers on nation building both within the Igbo homeland and in the Diaspora to take advantage of this opportunity and invest in Igbo society.

This is above all an integrated business strategy designed to achieve the long term development, modernization, peace and security of the Igbo nation and their neighbors across Nigeria, with the motto: Think Home and Develop Homeland”. It raises awareness about the importance of investing in and developing ones home land among citizens through campaign, media and educational programs.

It will further encourage both public and private sectors prioritization of infrastructural development projects that enhance the quality of life, attract investments and create an enabling environment for business to operate and improve access to basic services. Such as healthcare, education, and transportation to enhance the overall wellbeing of citizens.

Serious and capable investors and developers who are ready to commence work on their plots of land within six (6) months of allocation and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) shall get priority attention.

As a strategy, “Think Home Policy Initiative” is therefore Business strategy, a plan of action designed to achieve the long term and/or overall aim to develop coherent economic programs, projects, investments, and to develop towns and villages, to site factories, industries and create employment ventures for our kith and kin. We are committed to amplifying the urgent plea of our compatriots to invest in Igbo land.

The Igbo people are unique specie that derives pleasure in developing other places to the detriment of their home base. This worry-some trend must stop. Igbos must listen to the cries of many an Igbo visionary leaders and come back home and invest and develop Igbo-land. This filling of outside with the sand dug from inside the house must stop.

Our Vision: To have an Igbo-land where all critical infrastructures are in their superlative state functioning as should be compared with any other country or region in the developed world for our joyful living.

Our Mission; To harness both public and private sector contribution towards developing Igbo land to compare to any country or region in the world through;

1. Public enlightenment, advocacy, workshops, seminars and symposia
2. Attracting investors of critical infrastructure, and developing industrial and real estate parks in the region.
3. Collaborating with other patriotic individuals and groups of Igbo origin to develop the Igbo nation.

By employing all available public awareness strategies (including collaborations with foreign investors/partners) and security, and sustainability options in ensuring growth of all the investments and sectoral developments in Igbo Land.

Our Mandate:

1. To strive to the cultural, social, physical and infrastructural development of Igboland land comparable to any region in the world.
2. Liaise with various governments, professionals and technological groups within and outside Igbo land in all critical infrastructures, including Real Estates for development of Igbo-land.
3. To attract foreign and local investors and finances to actualize our vision and mission.

Our Policy Strategy: As a corporate entity with the vision of Igbo homeland where all modern amenities and infrastructure, social and security indices are at the superlative performances comparable to any region or country in the world. This we intend to achieve through clear cut developmental and policy strategies with a defined focus. This Policy Strategy focuses on the following intervention areas with premium emphasis on human and capital development:

THINK HOME SUSTAINABILITY:
Igbo Think Home Policy Initiative – as an organization- aims to convince the government of Igbo speaking states to key into the think home policy initiative by formulating policies that would encourage the Igbo people to bring back their investment to Igbo land.

The foreseen policies include, but not limited to the following:-

1.Provision of lands to serious and genuine investors at highly subsidized rates, or on customary grant/law.

2.Policies that would ensure ease of doing business.

3.Infrastructural development and power supply.

These policies when put into place, would foster private sector investment which is the key to economic and technological and job creation.

THE THINK HOME SECURITY: as the issue of security is always very vital to economic development and the sustainability therefore, Think Home Policy Initiative advocates for security as complimentary and will also not relent in its effort at ensuring that policies and strategies that would enhance security are put in place so that lives and property of the people are guaranteed for sustainable economic development.

Brief History of Igbo-Land:

Igbo land constitutes the single largest ethnic group in the world geographical Ndi Igbo by reason of studies can be said to be occupying the centre of the earth. Igbo land is the indigenes home of Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo and Igbo speaking areas of Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Benue, Delta, Kogi and Rivers states. Ndi Igbo are well known all over the world for their doggedness, resilience, hardwork/industriousness.

Governors of Igbo speaking states are hereby enjoined to assist the Igbo people to achieve the renewed consciousness to develop Igbo land by providing critical infrastructure – roads, cargo/airports, sea ports, powers and enabling environment, such as; in the process of land acquisition and ease of doing business.
The Igbo Progressive Professionals, Igbo Great Achievers and major Stakeholders are making many visible and practical efforts to develop their homes. Groups are springing up with serious and sincere efforts to come back home. Infrastructures are also springing up in the South-east and good road network are very imperative for this renaissance, revitalization and consciousness to come home.
