(A gunshot victim who was returning back from evangelism)
Pastor Goodness ike Amarachi is 39 years old. He is a Pastor at St Paul’s christ Methodist zion church ogbaku, in mbaitoli local govt area of imo state.
A local church which was founded by him in the remote community to win souls.
On the 27th of November, he was returning back to the village after a successful evangelism when he ran into the hands of dare-devil robbers. They shot him, left him in a pool of blood, and ran away with his newly acquired motorcycle.
They thought he was dead, but after some hours miraculously he regained consciousness and started calling on passerbys to help him. He was rushed to several hospitals for treatment, but was rejected by all. Finally he was taken to the federal medical centre (FMC) Owerri, where they eventually admitted him.
Emergency surgery was conducted on him, and 6 bullets were removed from his stomach.
He was kept in ICU for intensive care.
Further X-rays later confirmed more bullets in his body close to his spinal cord that needs advanced surgery in a better medical facility for him to have any chance of surviving or walking again.
His family needs 15 million naira to move Pastor Goodness Ike Amarachi out for better medical care, because FMC has stopped treating him due to a backlog of unpaid bills.
Outside what his family has paid already, his current bill is almost a million naira. FMC has removed him from ICU until he pays up his outstanding bills.
The local village church where he pastors was only able to raise 24,000 naira.
Even at the height of insecurity in IMO state, this young man goes about preaching and winning souls for Christ. Fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord, we must not watch this man die.
