AES Fever:Guinea protesters say they no longer recognize the govt

The group responsible for the protest in Guinea Conakry , Forces vives de Guinée (FVG) , say they no longer recognize the National Committee for Development (CNRD) and are calling for the establishment of a civil transition.

In a press release they issued on December 25, 2024, the group said they no longer recognize the military in power, starting December 31, 2024 (the date marking the end of the transition according to the agreement between the Economic Community of West African States and the CNRD which has ruled the country since the coup d’état of September 2021). The FVG, made up of political parties and civil society entities, are demanding the establishment of a civilian transition and have urged the population to hold a series of demonstrations starting from yesterday .
