On Thursday, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his delegation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja. The meeting was focused on strengthening the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and China, with a particular emphasis on collaboration in trade, investment, health, technology, and infrastructure development.
In his opening remarks, Tuggar expressed Nigeria’s dedication to fostering a more robust partnership between the two nations. He referenced President Bola Tinubu’s visit to China in September 2024, where four Memoranda of Understanding were signed, emphasizing ongoing progress in their implementation.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Foreign Minister highlighted that his visit was part of continuing discussions from the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit, reflecting China’s commitment to enhancing its strategic partnership with Nigeria.
