The managing director of Aero Contractors, Capt Ado Sanusi says there was a very minimum growth and achievements in the aviation industry in 2024 falling short of all expectations.
In an interview with select of journalists in his office, Capt Sanusi said nothing remarkable was achieved last year worth celebrating.
According to Sanusi, there is nothing to harvest in 2025 in the sector adding that there was no major policy shift last year.
The Aero Contractors boss decried the high taxation in the industry calling for the unification of charges and reduction of taxes into one single tax.
Capt Sanusi, noted that with the total implementation of Cape Town Convention, funding remained key in order to acquire aircraft.
He noted that aviation parastatals were struggling to survive with 50 per cent revenue deduction from source adding that there was no need to celebrate agency’s putting billions back into government coffers.
Capt Sanusi urged government to emulate Rwanda by unlocking the potential and allow economic growth.
On the activities of the airline in 2025, Capt Sanusi said, the N80, 000 fare has improved load factor of the airline with encouraging patronage adding, that it was a way of giving back to the society.
Capt Sanusi said more routes will be expanded, unbundled a lot of products and enlarged Maintenance, Rapair and Overhaul.
“The airline will strive this year to expand its fleet saying it will soon start valentine and Easter promotions”, the Aero Contractors boss stated.
