The United States is reportedly planning to build a training camp for urban military operations in Senegal.
The aim is to strengthen its military presence in Senegal in order to “strengthen the capabilities of the Senegalese armed forces to face threats while consolidating regional stability,” according to Salia Arona Fofana, a public affairs consultant, in Senegal.
If this new partnership is confirmed, the sovereignty of the country, claimed by the new leaders, could be affected and would call into question their declarations demanding the departure of all foreign forces from Senegal.
