THEY JUDGED HIM!
A 24-year-old man, looking out from a train window, shouted, “Dad, look! The trees are moving backward!” His father smiled while a young couple sitting nearby watched the young man’s childish behavior with pity. Suddenly, he exclaimed again, “Dad, look! The clouds are running with us!” Unable to hold back, the couple turned to the old man and said, “Why don’t you take your son to a good doctor?”
The father smiled and replied, “I did. We are just coming from the hospital. My son was blind from birth; he just got his eyesight today. That’s the reason for all this.”
Isn’t it ironic that when we become judges and critics in our hearts regarding others’ situations, we fail to recognize that the person we are judging often has no voice in their defense? Unfair condemnation is inevitable since no one will speak on behalf of the accused.
This silent tendency has led to numerous damaged relationships among siblings, spouses, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. From now on, we should grant others a fair hearing and refrain from judgment until we truly know them—or consider what gives us the right to judge at all.
Every single person on this planet has a story. As I mentioned before, don’t judge people before you genuinely know them. Your assumptions could be far from the truth, making your judgments wrong and based on limited information. If only one could be calm and kind enough, the truth might surprise you.
You may be shocked to discover how nice and loving you are when you refrain from rushing to judgment about others in your heart. You may not be right after all.
You might want to review the judgments you currently hold and reconsider your stance.
Remember, “You must not judge others until you have truly known them.”
No wonder Jesus warned us, ““Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly].Math7:1…amplified version
