CHIEF DECLAN DIRE TO SHARE 500 BAGS OF RICE TO UMUAKA COMMUNITIES ON VAL DAY
Renowned US-based philanthropist, High Chief Declan Ibezimako Dire, has announced plans to distribute 500 bags of 10kg rice to widows and the poorest of the poor in Umuaka Municipal Council.
The rice giveaway, scheduled to take place on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Hilltop Primary School Uba Umuaka, starting at 9 am, is part of Chief Dire’s food program exercise aimed at supporting vulnerable members of the community.
Selection Process
Each autonomous community in Umuaka will submit 45 names of beneficiaries through their president-general, while the royal father will provide an additional 5 names, making a total of 50 beneficiaries per community.
Chief Dire’s Appeal
High Chief Declan Dire has appealed to all presidents-general in Umuaka to be present during the program to ensure proper identification of beneficiaries. He also urged them to inform the beneficiaries in advance, as no collective collection arrangements have been made.
Coordinator Appointed
The president-general of Uba Umuaka Autonomous Community has been appointed to coordinate the program among his colleagues.
