Young pupils in Yobe burst into tears, overwhelmed by the fear that the collapse of their only school has shattered their hopes and dreams for a better tomorrow.
GADAHOWA, Yobe State School children in Gadahowa village, Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State, staged a peaceful protest following the complete absence of a single classroom for learning.
The protest was triggered after the only available classroom in the community school collapsed, forcing the children to stay out of school due to a lack of space to learn.
Holding handwritten placards, the pupils marched through the village, appealing to the Yobe State Government to come to their aid by building new classrooms to save their future.
According to residents, the school in Gadahowa currently has no functional classroom, leaving children to study under harsh conditions either in the rain or beneath the burning sun.
