Hausa Ethnic Stakeholders & Concerned Citizens of Zamfara Reject “Peace Drama,” Blanket Amnesty for Terrorists, and Secret Negotiations
We, the Hausa ethnic stakeholders together with concerned citizens of Zamfara, categorically reject the so-called “peace initiative” and blanket amnesty being extended to notorious terrorist Bello Turji — an arrangement championed by certain Fulani religious scholars and politicians, including Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, and Senator Shehu Buba, Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence.
We demand immediate and transparent answers from Asadussunnah regarding his repeated and secretive engagements with the TURJI terrorist group. Evidence confirms that he and his associates located TURJI hideouts and held three separate meetings with them. Who authorized these visits? How was this intelligence obtained? And why was it not used for decisive, security action?
Even more disturbing, Asadussunnah declared publicly that Bello Turji had surrendered his weapons yet he was later seen fully armed. He was also said to have released captives, yet credible reports show he abducted hundreds more, murdered civilians, and threatened Sheikh Murtala Assada, a respected Islamic scholar who firmly opposes negotiations with terrorists.
Meanwhile, the Zamfara State Government claims it had no knowledge of these meetings and now suspects possible violations of legal procedures and counter-terrorism protocols, potentially amounting to aiding and abetting terrorist elements.
For years, Fulani-led armed groups have killed thousands of Hausa civilians, burned over 3,000 Hausa villages, destroyed farmlands, raped thousands of women, and committed unspeakable atrocities — including reports of infants being fed to dogs by criminals like “Kacalla dan Sadiyya.” Under this “peace” arrangement, such criminals could enter your home, violate your wife, and face no legal consequences, while communities would be forced to pay them “peace levies” and farm land they have seized.
Today, over five million Hausa are internally displaced in Nigeria, with another two million in Niger Republic, yet no relief efforts, no aid, and no Hausa representation in these so-called negotiations have been made. Talks are dominated entirely by Fulani clerics and political figures, excluding the victims themselves.
This is not peace. This is government surrender.
We call for:
1. A full independent investigation into all contacts between Asadussunnah, TURJI, and political sponsors of the peace deal.
2. Immediate public clarification from Asadussunnah and relevant officials on the terms, authorizations, and intelligence behind these engagements.
3. Firm and direct military action against all terrorist groups, ending the misuse of “peace initiatives” as a cover to protect ethnic allies.
Peace is a noble goal but peace without justice is government surrender. And surrender to terror is unacceptable.
