Oba OJORA and thugs impunity most be call to order.
On Thursday August 7th, 2025, Residents of Ajegunle in Ajeromi Ifelodun L.G.A.& Ifelodun L. C. D. A. woke up to seeing their life miserably destroyed by Oba Fatai Oyegbemi Aromire (the Ojora of Ijora) for orchestrating illegal property seizures, extortion, and violent evictions. For years, the Oba’s thugs have terrorized the community, demanding ₦5,000 yearly ‘royalties’ from homeowners and tenants—only to later sell their properties without consent.
In a recent act of cruelty, the Oba’s agents destroyed the home of a medically vulnerable stroke patient, removing the roof to force eviction. He justifies these actions by falsely citing a Supreme Court Ruling (SC/54/2005) and a Lagos High Court case (LD/443/2002) delivered by Justice Kazeem Alogba, which actually involved disputes between the Ojora Royal Family and Chief Ogunyemi and other seven families in Iganmu and Orile axis, not general residents and Ajegunle people.
The communities has reported these crimes to the Ajeromi Divisional Police Officer (DPO)& Layeni Police Division,highlighting the Oba’s blatant disregard for the law and exploitation of vulnerable citizens. We urgently appeal to the Federal Government, Lagos State Authorities, Lagos State House of Assembly and Human Rights Institutions to halt this criminality, protect homeowners, and restore justice.
