What Ibom Air and Nigerian security officials did to Ms. Comfort Emmanson is a crime that demands immediate national outrage. Over a phone that allegedly wasn’t switched off, they pounced like thugs—detained her, dragged her off the aircraft in full view of passengers, stripped her naked while filming, and dumped her in Kirikiri Prison.
Let’s call this what it is: class violence.
When Senator Adams Oshiomhole shut down Lagos Airport, he was pampered with apologies and a private jet. When KWAM 1 assaulted a female captain and blocked a ValueJet aircraft, the system bowed and moved on. But because Ms. Emmanson is not a politician’s daughter or a billionaire’s wife, she was degraded, humiliated, and caged like a criminal.
This is a deliberate, systemic war on the poor—executed by Ibom Air staff, aided by complicit security agencies, and rubber-stamped by a judiciary that remanded her without mercy.
The FG should do the following
Her immediate release from Kirikiri Prison.
Criminal prosecution of every Ibom Air staff and security officer involved.

The poor are not animals.
