Niger authorities accused the UN Secretary General of collusion with France

“The UN Secretary-General, with the connivance of France and the francophone heads of state of ECOWAS, did not fulfill his mission by preventing Niger from participating in the 78th session of the UN General Assembly,” said Amadou Abdraman, a spokesman for Niger’s military transitional government. According to him, Guterres not only refused to take note of the official list of delegates from Niger, but above all “satisfied the fanatical request of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Niger to recall Niger’s permanent representative to the UN.” Niger strongly condemns the decision of the UN Secretary General and considers it interference in the internal affairs of the state, a government spokesman said.
