I do remember back in early 2000’s when I was working with the railways in London. Following the high threats of bombings in London transport, we were told to be vigilant and lookout for suspicious items and people.
It was quite simple….. if we spotted any heavily bearded man in white robe or jalabiya and was carrying something that looked like a backpack, we silently raised alarm and eyes will be on such a fellow. All Arabs became suspect…..so much that people would even vacate a bus, the very moment an Arab stepped in. Osama’s attack brought that stigma upon so many Muslims.
