” Atiku is too desperate to be trusted as president of a United Nigeria!

The League Of True Nigeria Friends For Peter Obi, a national political support group has lambasted Alhaji Atiku Abubakar the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the coming 2023 presidential elections for what it describes as Atiku’s shameful outing and ethnic hate speech in Kaduna on Saturday 15th October, 2022. The group calls Alhaji Abubakar a desperate politician and an ethnic jingoist who is masquerading as a national unifier! The group quarries Atiku’s bases for his claims as a unifier if he can not market himself to the North based purely on the issues at stake but relapsing to cheap blackmail against other candidates from Yoruba and Igbo ethnic groups.
This reaction came on the heels of a viral video which showed Alhaji Atiku Abubakar telling his audience in Kaduna on Saturday to vote for him because he is a Northerner and that the North does not want Yoruba or Igbo candidates.

In a swift reaction, the convener and National President of League Of True Nigeria Friends For Peter, Chief Cosmas Aligwekwe frowned at Atiku’s very poor public outing and wondered if Atiku wants to be the president of Northern Nigeria or the president of a whole United Nigeria!

“Just two weeks ago, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was in Enugu on a campaign tour in Igbo land. Last week he was in Akwa Ibom State yet on campaign tour. Was he in those places to garner votes to become the president of Northern Nigeria or to be president of a United Nigeria?

“If someone like Atiku can not market himself to the electorate in the North based on his credentials – credibility, competence, capacity and commitment to provide solutions to the numerous problems bedeviling Nigeria at this time and to keep Nigeria’s wealth safe, then Nigerians don’t want him. We don’t want another ethnic jingoist in Aso Rock! We don’t want another nepotistic government in Nigeria!

” Atiku is too desperate to be trusted as president of a United Nigeria! How can you call yourself a unifier and you are making needless hate speeches against other ethnic groups in a country where ethnicity and religion are very touchy and sensitive issues? Nigerian voters especially those in the North are wiser today than in 2015 and they will reject Atiku roundly at next year’s Presidential elections! The North will not again vote on the bases of ethnicity or religion because hunger and insecurity do not discriminate based on ethnicity or religion! Already the handwriting is very clear on the wall that Nigerians want to do away with old and spent horses like Atiku Abubakar and Bola Ahmed Tinubu who don’t have any solutions to our current and emerging problems yet they don’t want to honourably retire from elective offices. Nigerians will retire them with their votes in 2023 because the popular choice of the people is Mr. Peter Obi and it is for very obvious reasons!”

In the same breath Chief. Cosmas Aligwekwe calls on the INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu to come out openly and assure the whole world and Nigerians in particular that he and his commission are prepared and committed to conduct a free, fare and credible elections in 2023. This demand has become very necessary owning to the heart-rending information and observations about some nefarious activities of some desperate politicians. These include the corruption of the voters register with the names and photos of none Nigerians as alleged and evidenced by the CUPP a few weeks back to the buying of Voters Cards by some political agents ahead of the elections as we are seeing in many viral videos.

” While on tour of the North two weeks ago, I and my members observed some APC agents giving money to some prospective voters in exchange for the numbers at the back of their voters cards.
In Borno State, specifically in Shehuri North, Shehuri South, Hausari, Limanti Wards of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council all this was going on every day. The same trend was observed in Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State by agents of the same APC. They are capitalising on the hunger in the land.
Obviously they will use these numbers to compromise the validity of such cards! For such to happen, it means that some INEC staff will be involved directly! That leaves a lot to be desired!

“INEC Chairman should therefore go beyond making promises to conduct free, fare and credible elections to showing evidence of preparedness to do so by identifying and punishing those bad eggs within the commission who are collaborating with these desperate politicians to compromise the elections of 2023.

Needless to say that the success or other wise of the elections of 2023 knocks at the very root of the unity and peace of this great country! May God bless our country Nigeria and give us credible and God fearing leaders from 2023.”
