Dr. Tiri Gyan David, the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), has tragically lost his life in a bandits attack in Katsina State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at his residence in Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to Channels TV, the attackers, armed with sophisticated weaponry, invaded the community around 1:30am.
They fired shots indiscriminately, terrifying residents.
Abubakar Sadiq, the spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, confirmed the attack, expressing that a comprehensive statement would be issued shortly.
Despite efforts by the state government and security agencies to restore peace, Dutsinma remains one of the 10 front-line local government areas frequently targeted by bandits.(NAN)
