Repentance and confession are often misunderstood as merely expressing our grievances to God. In studying the lives of Kings David and Saul, we see a significant difference: David was open before God about his sins, demonstrating true repentance and understanding of God’s forgiveness, while Saul struggled to come clean.
Sin creates turmoil within our souls, especially if our conscience is alive and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. It separates us from God and His blessings. Confession follows repentance; it’s about being honest with God.
David, after committing adultery and murder to cover his sin, lived in denial for nine months, thinking he could hide his actions. God’s silence does not equate to His approval. It took the prophet Nathan to confront David and expose his wrongdoing. Once David recognized his sins, he was broken and confessed, leading to God’s forgiveness (Psalm 32:5).
We are encouraged to examine ourselves and confess our sins before God. Forsaking a sin without true repentance is challenging, but it is crucial for healing. That’s when our conscious effort pays off. Sin is not just moral collapse, sin is spiritual. Repentance and Confession with positive departure effort are the ways to uproot sin.
Some of us are champions of sin confession while we do not acknowledge genuine repentance and departure.
Are you hiding any sin? Repent and confess; Jesus is ready to welcome you. Remember, God’s patience does not mean He approves of sin. Sin is a destroyer any day. With sin you can’t put the devil away. He owns sin and he follows same anywhere.
Like we all knew, before any major breakthrough in our life, the devil always comes with compelling and lucrative opportunities to sin. Remember Joseph and his boss’s wife. Joseph Prime Minister appointment was confirmed in the boss bedroom right before the boss wife naked as an alternative to the throne. Who knows how yours would appear or have appeared already? Take advantage of God’s grace to confirm your appointment in Jesus’ Name.
Always remember, there are no new devils, its the same devils with his old tricks. Do not sell off your colorful destiny. His tricks haven’t changed. He still hunts for great destinies.
May we take this opportunity to reflect, repent, confess and forsake those sin contest ing over our glorious destiny.
Mind you no child of God is too big for repentance. David was a king with every state powers but he hurriedly repentened, confessed and forsook his sins. Satan usess sin as his bait to catch his victims. Do not toy with sin.
May God help you yo come clean.
This is your week.
