ARE WE POLITICALLY NAIVE?
Today, many of us came to the conclusion that the “Sai Baba” movement was a political mistake destined to happen to us for a lesson. We were blinded by our desperation to oust the sets of self imposed political leaders that were priding and bragging to rule us for 60yrs under PDP, despite the incompetence.
Regrettably under the APC platform, Baba Buhari was more of a trojan horse mistaken for a political messiah. We fought, we voted and celebrated, but at the end we cried. What an expensive experience!
APC again, emotions and sentiments at play. Balablu and Muslim Muslim was the first fireworks. Removal of subsidy, economy, forEx crisis and the emilekon agenda of moving some government establishments to Lagos took the stage and got us enraged. Clearly, insecurity and hunger manifesting across the regions like the pandemic there was pandemonium all over the places. Arewa voices nearly brought down the roof of the region as a result of the incessant killings by the terrorists and poverty.
All of the above were enough to trigger the need for unity of purpose! Some youths and activists in the north capitalised on their emotions and started all sorts of movements to rescue the situations. Inexperience and lack of resources remain the biggest threat. Suddenly, the political elites outside the corridor of power reappeared and took to the stage. Together with those in the government, they started by using wedding gatherings as their mini political platforms and finally the agenda of political courtship towards the 2027 marriage of convenience was made public.
Sad to say, same old political game players that championed the Sai Baba movement at various states are at it again. We recalled how we rubbed shoulders and hugged each other celebrated the Sai Baba victory, before they started wearing stone faces. Finally, their true colours were left open and each of them turned into an alien 👽 against the collective agenda that rallied us together. Baba fell sick and we never got the real and politically spirited Baba back. They hijacked the movement and the poor masses move away and moved on.
No doubt, we were politically naive and vulnerable.
Yes for today, things are terribly bad. Economy is bad, insecurity is bad, electricity is bad, roads are bad, forex is bad, education is bad, everything is bad. Are we still naive and vulnerable?
The new old politicians that are craving to come back, are they not the same people that harmed us and handed over to this present set of politicians that are struggling with the leadership?
Are we not compelled to drink from the same pond which the dog in the photo is unwilling to drink from?
WHAT IS THE WAY OUT OR FORWARD? IS IT SAI BABA AGAIN? 😢ðŸ˜ðŸ˜±
