Fulani Elites Accused of Spending Over ₦79 Million to Shield Terror Ful’ani bandits While Over 600,000 Nigerians Killed, 2.2 Million Abducted in One Year

In the face of damning new statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) — revealing that 614,937 Nigerians were killed and over 2.2 million abducted in just one year — disturbing allegations have emerged pointing to a multi-million-naira campaign by Fulani elites to sanitize the image of violent militias largely made up of Fulani forest-based militants.
According to whistleblower reports and critical observers, ₦79 million was allegedly disbursed to sponsor a religious lecture series fronted by selected Islamic clerics. These lectures, however, were not aimed at condemning the bloodshed or calling for justice for the victims, but rather at downplaying the severity of the attacks and redirecting public attention away from the genocidal realities plaguing the Middle Belt and Northwestern Nigeria.
Among the most controversial figures is Sheikh Musa Asadus-Sunnah, the lead speaker in the event, who has reportedly been honored with the title “Ardon Sunnah” (Commander of the Sunnah) by Fulani cultural organizations. Rather than using the pulpit to condemn terror, call for justice, or urge the government to prosecute known kidnappers, the sermons consistently emphasized reconciliation, negotiation with terrorists, and attacks against groups like the Hausa Tsantsa Movement, branding them as “tribal extremists.”
This comes as the NBS data shows ₦2.2 trillion in ransom payments extracted by kidnappers in one year — further strengthening the argument that the Fulani-led terrorist economy is thriving, while thousands of Hausa and other indigenous communities are left in ruins.

Sokoto – 150,000 deaths
Benue – 64,783 deaths

Kaduna – 390,000 kidnapped
Katsina – 318,000 kidnapped
Zamfara – 267,000 kidnapped
Notably, neither the presidency, nor the military, nor the Nigeria Police Force has issued a meaningful response to these figures. Instead, what Nigerians are seeing is a well-funded campaign to polish the image of killers and silence critical voices under the guise of Islamic moderation and unity.
Critics have sharply condemned these actions as spiritual betrayal and moral bankruptcy. A prominent analyst said:
“When so-called scholars gather to speak of peace but refuse to demand justice for the murdered, or even mention the word terror, then it becomes clear: they are not neutral messengers of Islam but strategic mouthpieces for power.”
Even more damning, none of the clerics at the event reportedly spoke about the Islamic legal prohibition against negotiating with terrorists, nor did they issue any condemnation of Fulani militias. Instead, the entire narrative was flipped—portraying the Hausa people’s frustration as “tribalism,” while excusing mass killings and abductions as “political misunderstandings.”
But the tide is turning.
The Hausa people — who form the bulk of the victims in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, and Kaduna — are increasingly aware of the tactical use of religion as a shield for terror. No amount of money or public lectures can bury the truth: innocent lives are being lost daily, and those with the means to raise their voices in defense of the oppressed have chosen instead to protect the murderers.
The manipulation is over. The awakening is real. And no ₦79 million lecture series can reverse it.
