Ohaneze identifies diaspora Commonwealth as the pillar for SE development

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Senator John Azuta-Mbata, has stated that Igbo diaspora remittances are the bedrock of economic development in the South-East region.

According to him, these remittances have remained a robust pillar of survival for Ndigbo, especially in hard times.

“Igbo diaspora remittances has remained the robust bedrock for economic development of the region as well as an inevitable pillar of survival for Ndi-Igbo, especially in this hard times,” he said.

He made this assertion in a goodwill message to the Council of Igbo States in the Americas during their 2025 Igbo World Festival of Arts and Culture held in Brunswick and Igbo landing site in St. Simons Island, Georgia United States, between July 25 and 26, 2025.
