Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ethiopia Charity Organization Pays Courtesy Visit to the Apostolic Nuncio in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 16 August 2025 – The Executive Members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ethiopia Charity Organization, led by the President, Chief Chigbo Anyaso, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Archbishop Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio and Ambassador of the Holy See, at the Apostolic Nunciature in Addis Ababa. The purpose of the visit was to formally welcome His Excellency on the occasion of his assumption of duty in Ethiopia.
The meeting created an opportunity for constructive dialogue on matters relating to the welfare of Nigerians, particularly members of the Igbo community residing in Ethiopia.
In his response, Archbishop Udaigwe, a Nigerian by birth and a proud son of Igboland, expressed sincere gratitude to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ethiopia for their goodwill visit and warm reception. While acknowledging his cultural and national heritage, His Excellency emphasized that his official mandate in Ethiopia is strictly to represent the Apostolic Nunciature. Accordingly, he advised that issues pertaining to Nigerians and the Igbo community in Ethiopia should be appropriately directed to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Archbishop Udaigwe concluded the engagement with prayers for peace, unity, and continued progress, invoking blessings upon the leadership, members, and families of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ethiopia Charity Organization.
