Igbos and friends of Igbos of South East Nigeria are asking for the Governments of Finland and Nigeria to please help us from the radical violent extremism fuelled by one Simon Ekpa, a resident of Finland.
Simon Ekpa who claims to be of Finnish nationality of Nigerian descent uses different social media platforms to spread misinformation, disinformation, online hate speeches, and incitement to violence against innocent citizens of Nigeria.

His online activities of hate speeches BASED ON MISINFORMATION AND DISINFORMATION have radicalized and weaponized many young people in the Igbo land of South Nigeria.
Simon Ekpa uses his safe base in Finland to promote the use of violence in the enforcement of his so-called “sit at home” against Igbo and other citizens of Nigeria, especially those who belief in the willingness of the Igbos to unite and work with fellow Nigerians is critical if we must strive to foster an attitude of inclusiveness in our dealings with our fellow citizens.

That only thus will we rid ourselves of the stigma of “clannishness” with which we have been unjustly labelled.  “Nigeria without the inventiveness and the dynamism of the Igbo would be a less hopeful place than it is”. – Arthur Nwankwo
From his safe base in Finland, he funds a terror gang called a mostly unemployed disillusioned gang of violent criminals who kill and terrorize innocent Igbos and other citizens of Nigeria who go against his call for “Sit at Home”.

His social media hate speeches and incitement to violence from Finland must be stopped!

By allowing him to go on we want the government of Finland and Nigeria to know that they are also complacent in the demonization and promotion of ethnic/religious genocide.

We call on the Finish government to investigate his action and bring him to justice for the loss of innocent lives in southeast Nigeria.
We call all on Twitter, Facebook, Google (Youtube), etc to close his hate accounts and prevent further loss of lives.

His Twitter account bio:

Defyhatenow Nigeria Mobilising Civic Action to Counter Hate Speech and Violent Extremism both Online and Offline.

The #defyhatenow initiative works on providing community-based and data-driven solutions to the problem of hate speech, disinformation, and misinformation.
Our work focuses on creating a framework for increasing trust between stakeholders through mobilizing civic action against all forms of hate speech and incitement to violence, including disinformation created via the politics of hate and retribution against Igbos.

defyhatenow Nigeria seeks to support the voices and actions of citizens working against online/offline-induced conflict within and outside affected regions by bringing youth, community leaders, grassroots organizations, and further civil society stakeholders into a peace-oriented media and information literacy framework.

Bridging gaps of knowledge and awareness of social media mechanisms between those with access to technology and those without, #defyhatenow is a growing network of online and offline peace-builders.
The project is implemented by Nigerian for Peace and Justice, a community-based organization registered in Nigeria as a non-profit youth-led organization.

Nigerian for Peace of Justice acts as an intermediary organization for schools, civic debate spaces, or separate public/private organizations for learning and exploring questions of participation and accountability of locally elected officials.

Its main goal merges with the initiative’s mandate, which is community mobilization to counter hateful rhetoric among young people both online and offline.
Through the people-oriented grants, this peace-building collaboration will aim to keep conflict mitigation conversations going, develop public resources, including comprehensive Social Media Hate Speech Mitigation Field Guides, an Early Warning Early Response System, and support local activists toward peace-oriented media-based activities.
