Chijindu described his ordeal, saying he narrowly escaped death as a result of heavy beatings from police officers.

According to the video seen online, the businessman was kicked from behind by a police officer while conversing with another officer during the stop-and-search.

According to him, he fell and broke his arm in the process, and he received bullet wounds when they fired gun shots at his vehicle.

In his words: “They shot in the air for me to pull my car over. I did. Then they pulled out all the children and started beating them. I came down to stop them from beating the kids.

“People were just shouting that the policemen should stop, that they were kids. So, in the process, they started beating me. One of them hit me with his gun. Another also hit the phone I was holding. One of the officers went behind me and brushed me down. I fell and had a broken bone.”

This comes just a few days after a trigger-happy Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) shot and killed a pregnant lawyer, Mrs. Omobolanle Raheemin, in Lagos’ Ajah district.
