Burkina Faso Announces Termination of Non-Double Taxation Treaty with France Since 1967, AIV Reports

The Tax Treaty for Non-Double Taxation, initially signed on August 11, 1965, between Burkina Faso and the French Republic, and later amended on June 3, 1971, has lost its alignment with Burkina Faso’s interests. Diplomatically, it was officially terminated on August 7, 2023, with a three-month notice period, as reported by the ABI. Ouagadougou accuses Paris of ignoring its appeals from January 2020 and late 2021 to reevaluate the terms of the agreement.
