Police ban all forms of protests to forestall breakdown of law and order over election tribunal in Kano

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) Kano state command has banned all forms of protests in the state, with immediate effect.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Husaini Gumel, made the announcement at the state headquarters on Monday.

According to him, intelligence reports revealed that both the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are mobilising for street protests against the tribunal sitting.


Recall the All Progressives Congress (APC) is challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for declaring Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state.

The respondents in the suit are INEC, Kabir Yusuf and NNPP.
