Peter Mba: Attempted secret sale of Presidential Hotel Enugu turns into crisis

After our expose on the planned sale of Presidential Hotel by the Enugu State govt, Gov Peter Mbah, through his media aide, has come out to deny this According to the media aide statement, he said that Gov Peter Mbah admin is determined to revive the 3-star legacy hotel with with private-sector investment, & the govt is disposing of dormant and unusable assets at market values to generate revenue to implement projects beneficial to the masses.

He further said that a relatively small portion of the vast hotel landmass has been carved out for sale.but that does not in any way affect the existing though decaying facilities in the hotel. The only part for sale is the isolated bushy area that had never been utilised for many decades, even during the golden periods when the hotel was functioning. He said these areas now serve as a hideout to criminals, and a shrine for cultists was recently discovered there. According to him, it will be converted to a highbrow estate, adding to the city aesthetics while generating revenue for the govt
