Iran and Niger strengthen cooperation ties Iran and Niger signed two cooperation agreements in the economic, political and health fields on January 24, 2023 in Tehran. The agreements concern in particular the strengthening of trade, cooperation in the field of energy and the fight against terrorism. Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber said strengthening ties with African countries, including Niger, was a priority for the Iranian government. He welcomed the upcoming reopening of the Niger embassy in Tehran. Niger Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine, for his part, called for the rapid implementation of the signed agreements and the holding of new meetings of the Iran-Niger joint cooperation commission.
