In his speech, he reaffirmed Burkina Faso’s firm desire to defend its national sovereignty, whatever the cost. Minister Bazié declared that Burkina Faso had “taken a flight of non-negotiable sovereignty”. He stressed that the country is ready to pay the necessary price to defend its independence and territorial integrity. Minister Bazié also called for “active solidarity” with friendly countries of Burkina Faso, including Russia, to defeat the forces of terrorism and neocolonialism. He praised the exemplary cooperation between Burkina Faso and Russia, based on frankness, transparency and mutual respect.
