IMO STATE GOVERNMENT SIGNS MOU WITH ELSEWEDY GROUP FOR ORASHI SPECIAL ENERGY FREE ZONE

In a bid to boost energy supply, infrastructural and economic development in the State and the Southeast region, the Imo State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the President of ELSEWEDY GROUP, Ahmed Elsewedy, a leading multinational conglomerate, to establish the Orashi Special Energy Free Zone. This landmark agreement aims to revolutionize the state’s energy sector while fostering industrial growth and job creation for the State and the Nation at large.

The Governor also engaged with key global entities, including Hassan Allam Holding, renowned for its expertise in engineering, construction, investment, and development; ADES, an esteemed Oil and Gas company; and Orascom Group, a prominent global engineering and construction contractor.

The meetings concluded with the parties expressing optimism about the prospect of future collaborations and partnerships that would contribute to the socio-economic development of Imo State and strengthen bilateral ties between Nigeria and Egypt.
