Thorough investigation need to be done and it shouldn’t be the Nigerian Army carrying out that investigation. The Commanding of a battalion, 2 Major and a Captain and 12 soldiers on a Peace Keeping mission in Okuoma a riverine community in Bomadi LGA ambushed and killed. Now am concern with the two words peace keeping.

What is the state of the crisis between Okoloba and Okuoma that requires a peace-keeping mission that needs the presence of a Lt Col, the commanding officer of the Amphibious Battalion to leave his unit for the peace deal?
Does the 2 Army Majors and Captain served in the same battalion with the Commanding Officer? Who ordered the peace keeping mission, is it Army HQ , DHQ or the C-In-C? The Peace Keeping mission should have includes the Delta state Commissioner of Police, the Delta state Director of the DSS and a representative of the Delta state Government and may be the Lt Col, 2 Army Majors and Captain and 12 soldiers would still be alive today.
Much as I do not support the killing of the Commanding Officer and the other 15 military personnel and the death of the civilian, it is my earnest concern that a thorough investigation be carried out to unravel the root cause of the death of the 4 Army officers and 12 soldiers and the Army should not be the ones to conduct the investigation and killing and burning down the community should stop as well.
