This came following the call for justice by the residents of the Abiriba community in the Ohafia Local Government Area in the state following the alleged killing of Okocha by a trigger-happy policeman in Aba.

They alleged that officers from the Rapid Response Squad of the Nigeria Police Force, on Friday, shot the businessman dead along MCC Abayi-Aba for allegedly refusing to bribe them despite having complete vehicle documents.

A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, on Saturday revealed that Njok was attached to the Abayi Police Division before the incident.

The statement read in part, “The officer has been apprehended, and necessary disciplinary procedures have been initiated.

“Appropriate disciplinary actions and sanctions will be effected soonest, and he will face the full course of appropriate administrative and legal consequences.

“In this regard, representatives of the bereaved family and stakeholders will be carried along as the proceedings progress.”
The people of Abriba however differ..hear them

The police officer that shot later Mr Emmanuel Okocha.. Wasn’t even the one that checked his car particulars.. And he’s not from RRS police division… He’s just a policeman attached to world Bank police command.. And he wasn’t even the one that requested for bribe… Rather after his colleagues were done with his particulars.. They tried to ask for money. Which late Mr Emmanuel Okocha refused.. Stating that why asking for money after delaying his movement.. As he enter tried to zoom off…. The assailant corp obagi njoku.. Who just got promoted to the rank of corporal just a month ago… Claimed that the deceased tried to hit him with his car as he tried to drive out… Which the vehicle never touched him.. Yet he cock his AK and fired late Mr Emmanuel Okocha on a close range….. Which they later rush him to living word hospital…

After 2 day’s in pain and agony… The deceased died living his beautiful wife and family.. How can we balance this statement? He tried to jam him… Not that he hit his leg or broke his waist… That’s how the police officer allowed Satan to use him to end the life if another.. #JUSTICEFOREMMANUEL
