The quality of good leadership includes the ability of the leader to stand firm by his conviction and articulate the same, especially where necessary and in the best interest of the people he leads. This was exactly the trait and attribute HRM Oba Ademola Eletu-Ashorota the Onitele of Itele land, Ota, Awori kingdom exemplified today 22nd January 2023 at the just concluded meeting convened by the Ogun West APC senatorial candidate Senator Adeola Olamilekan popularly known as YAYI with the Ogun state Awori Obas held at the Olota’s palace.

Recalled the distinguished senator had facilitated an erosion control project on the Ota-Itele Road to cushion the pains of users of the roads and with a view that the road receives the attention of the government for construction proper. However, what is evident since contractors moved to the site is a focus on the Ota township part of the road, therefore, leaving out the Itele axis from benefiting from this infrastructural intervention. Although the contractors when engaged had insisted they are working according to plan, typical of him, the Onitele HRM Eletu-Ashorota, pointedly, insisted before Senator Yayi that the best way he could convince his people to vote for him and of course the All-Progressive Congress was if they benefited from the intervention scheme.

Moved by Kabiesi’s passionate articulation and advocacy on behalf of his people and with backing from the Deputy Governor of Ogun state HE Noimot Salako-Oyede who also was present at the meeting, the distinguished senator Olamilekan Yayi responded that though the contractor was supposed to split kick-off on both ends of the road, therefore, he announced that the contractor will begin work from the Itele section from tomorrow 23rd January 2023.

The Onitele of Itele HRM Oba Musiliu Ademola Eletu-Ashorota remarked that the Itele people cannot thank the Dapo Abiodun-led administration enough. It was his administration that returned the beading of the crown to the Itele community after long decades of a leaderless community. He extended his appreciation to the deputy governor HE Noimot Salako-Oyedele and according to him also to the rave of the moment Senator Yayi for integrating Itele-Ota into the consciousness of the government plan of rebuilding Ogun state. He is confident that based on the development that the APC government has recorded under the Dapo Abiodun government, candidates under the party remain the ones to beat in the coming elections, he submitted.
