Electoral Violence: The Experience Of A Non Indigene in Lagos/Whatsapp

Ben good afternoon my brother. Very disturbing report from Ebute Metta. I have tried to reach Gbadebo but he’s not checking his DM. There are so many OBIdients who are scared to vote in Ebute Metta axis, precisely; 23, Jones St, Ebute Metta (west), Apapa Rd Lagos. Opposite UBA. This is along the road connecting Costain to Oyingbo

And they’re scared & won’t come out if we don’t do something urgent

Let me send you my conversation with of them so that we can put our heads together

This past election. These guys gathered around our PU, about 20 of them. Threatening people. They walked anyone perceived to be Yoruba/Apc supporter straight to accreditation and cubicle for voting. They’ll gather around you right there in the cubicle while you vote. Eventually, it was only non indigenes that were left on the queue and they were all asked to go home.

They started stone pelting and pouring water on everyone, even on some elderly ones. They beat at least 4 boys before me, any one that says anything. These are notable top area boys and Apc members in our area. This is because they practically know all us and our ethnic groups. The policemen and the Inec officials were just there for them. Lemme show you a short clip I made of my friend when they snatched his Pvc, he recovered it from them like 3 days after election. (NOT SHARED FOR SECURITY REASON) He couldn’t vote. A lot happened bro. I’ll call you if need be

I’m close to the police SCIIB, Panti but they appear scared the area boys may come for them if I involve the police
