Tinubu Holds Closed-Door Meeting With Southwest Traditional Rulers In Ibadan

The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in continuation of his consultation ahead the forthcoming general elections has on Thursday met with the Yoruba traditional rulers behind closed-door in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The meeting, which was presided over by the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, was held at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan (UI).

A communique issued at the end of the meeting by the Director-General of the Conscience of Yoruba Nation, Abagun Kole Omololu, stated that the royal fathers expressed satisfaction with the briefings of Tinubu on his aspiration, acknowledging Tinubu’s solid democratic credentials and unwavering commitment to the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.

The closed-door meeting attracted traditional rulers like Orangun of Oke Ila Oba (Dr.) Adedokun Abolarinwa; Olugbo of Ugbo Oba Fedric Akinruntan; Osimawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo; Olugbon of Orile-Igbon Oba Francis Olusola Alao and Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Ademola among others.

Tinubu and his entourage had earlier paid a courtesy visit to the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s office, Agodi Secretariat Ibadan, before heading to the historical Mapo Hall for proper rally.

On the encourage of Tinubu are Chief Bisi Akande, Sunday Dare, Governors Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, former Governor Kayode Fayemi, former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, and others.
